The Check In
CAUSE: Health & Wellness, Mental Health
PROJECT DIRECTOR: Sinikiwe
Dhliwayo
The Check-in supports the mental and emotional well-being of young Black, Indigenous and People of Color through education and access to free mental healthcare. The program was born out of a deep belief that young folks, namely BIPOC youth, deserve an abundance of resources to enable them to be well. This is especially critical right now, in the midst of a global pandemic and ongoing civic discourse as we strive to create parity for Black folks. We all deserve to be well, and limited financial means or access to culturally, emotionally, and racially competent practitioners should not be a barrier.
