CHARLEY PARKHURST

CAUSE: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

CATEGORY: Film

PROJECT DIRECTOR: Karen Covell

CHARLEY PARKHURST, an independent feature film, is inspired by a little-known true story and told through the eyes of one the most infamous stagecoach drivers to ever ride across the Wild West. Charley’s unique perspective tells of the mythos and mystique of the classic Western while spinning a story that resonates with today's audiences. Charley not only defies the law and all social dictates but deceives everyone by living her life disguised as a man to survive and to live her life on her terms. The film gives a new perspective to the grit and determination needed to survive, and is a unique take on the classic genre, resonating with and reflecting our world today. CHARLEY PARKHURST is a moving adventure biopic, dealing with identity, deception, race, gender, love, loss, and finally, what one does to not just endure but to live life to its fullest.
