Roth
One Person Crying: Women and War, a global photographic project initiated by Marissa Roth in 1984, spans 38 years of her photography, addressing how women have been directly affected by war and its aftermath. This project has inspired a 10-episode documentary, The Peace Photographer, which will feature Roth photographing and interviewing women in 10 current and former zones who advocate for peace and justice. These powerful conversations will make up the episodic footage while featuring her photography. Roth also aims to bring together women who have survived war by establishing a community of these remarkable women from around the world through lectures and symposiums. One Person Crying: Women and War is a nuanced multimedia homage to female war survivors and the strength of this community formation, while highlighting this often under-reported perspective on war.
