In this unpredictable and ever-changing climate, Creative Visions is helping to answer the question, “how can you create more peace within yourself and your community to build a more just, caring, and sustainable world?”
This salon was a unique roundtable discussion - "Make Peace Noisy" led by Peace Activist Maya Soetoro-Ng, joined by Reverend Michael Beckwith from Agape International Spiritual Center, Karen Maurice O’Leary (formerly with META) and Andi Gitow from the United Nations. The panelists describe how we unite people, not tear them apart, through digital tools and compelling storytelling to speed up peacemaking efforts and adoption.

Creative Visions and Board Chair Geralyn Dreyfous hosted a special screening of Oscar-nominated NAVALNY to celebrate its CNN premiere. NAVALNY is the must-see documentary chronicling the investigation into the shockingly brazen assassination attempt of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny - and his ongoing fight for democratic reform.
We were joined by members of our Creative Activist Network Kathy Eldon, Daniel Roher (director), Diane Becker (producer), Melanie Miller (producer), Nicole Shipley of Safe Space Pictures, CV's Megha Kadakia, Geralyn Dreyfous, (CV's Board Chair), CV's Pat Chandler, and Inessa O-Childs (CV Board Member).
The film has won Best Documentary Feature at the 2023 Academy Awards and is now streaming on HBO Max.
Our Sundowner Series takes place at the Dan Eldon Center for Creative Activism at our offices in Malibu, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We invite members of our community and our Creative Activist Network to gather around the subject of creative activism.
Modeled after an African tradition celebrating the sunset, our popular monthly Sundowners bring together artists, filmmakers, photographers, media creators and industry leaders — influential individuals who make things happen.
These epic gatherings spawn new friendships and connections that ignite positive change across the globe. Funders, creative activists and social entrepreneurs overlook the ocean while networking, listening to music and learning about new opportunities.
Watch the playback of our virtual discussion on FERGUSON RISES, the 2021 documentary that tells the story of the residents of Ferguson, Missouri, a small town that suffered a powerful loss and became the flash point for a modern day civil rights movement.
Hosted by Creative Visions, this conversation includes director, Mobolaji Olambiwonnu, Michael Brown Sr., Rev. Osagyefo Sekou, Rev. Renita Lamkin and moderator Jimmie Briggs (Activist/Journalist).
The panel discussed the making of the film, its continued relevance, how to ensure the film will reach a mass audience, and what actions we can take moving forward to heal the wounds of systemic racial disparity in this country.
