Dan Eldon Legacy honors the life and work of artist, adventurer and activist, Dan Eldon. During Dan’s short life, he lit sparks that after his death, illuminated the paths of hundreds of thousands of people. By the age of 22, Dan had traveled to 42 countries, created a series of fine art journals that would become international best sellers, worked in refugee camps, opened a business, became the youngest staff photojournalist at Reuters, fallen in love and accumulated more life experience than most in a lifetime.
Dan's father, Mike, and his wife, Evelyn Mungai, launched the Cura Orphanage project in 2005 and, soon after, Creative Visions stepped up as its US-based fiscal sponsor. In 2006, Hayden Bixby, an original member of the tribe Dan gathered for his epic safari, came on board as the International Program Director. Since that time, the project has expanded and the children have grown. In addition to providing a loving home for orphans, their response expanded beyond basic care and into medical, agricultural and educational projects that benefit the entire community.
Visually stunning and wildly inspiring, The Journey is the Destination follows Dan Eldon's tumultuous coming of age, his exploration of love and his struggle to create change in an increasingly violent and dangerous world. Shot on location in South Africa and Kenya, Journey is filled with laughter and wit, along with a dash of rebellion.
The film tells the story of a young man struggling to realize his purpose, his place in the world, and his belief in the role of individuals to create positive change. Journey has triggered a “Connection is the Solution” movement designed to inspire individuals to believe they have a role in creating positive change in the world.

"To explore the unknown and familiar, distant and near and to record in detail with the eyes of a child, any beauty, (of the flesh or otherwise), horror, irony, traces of utopia or Hell. Select your team with care, but when in doubt, take on some new crew and give them a chance."
