Two sisters reunite in a Nigerian village from their childhood and expose intergenerational trauma that was long concealed by their family's female leaders.
Despite the global prevalence of sexual abuse, Nigeria and the rest of Africa suffer from an even more severe issue. Society has ingrained a cultural taboo that prevents victims, particularly women and children, from speaking out against these atrocities. Visually depicting this narrative through the film Ni Abeokuta Underneath the Rock aims to raise awareness and shed light on the dire situation.
