The Radical Imagination Project (R.I.P.) by Syllble Studios empowers young people to reimagine transformative futures through the collective act of worldbuilding using science fiction, fantasy and speculative fiction in collaboration with experts and scientists. Our world is facing unprecedented crises—from climate change and inequality to political tyranny and mental health challenges—creating a sense of decay and disconnection in our societies. Especially for young people as the heroes of their own lives to move beyond the ordinary world and these struggles, we must imagine new worlds and systems that inspire solutions and give way for more hopeful and more equitable futures. As a three-phase initiative, R.I.P. establishes worldbuilding clubs in schools, colleges, and universities around the creation of a shared fictional universe, collaborate in an online platform, introducing students to creative collaborative storytelling, radical imagination that confronts real-world issues like climate justice, social equity (Indigenous Rights, Technological disruption, Mental Health Crisis, Political decay and authoritarianism) and helps them break out of mental blocks and challenges in a creative way.
