GENGHIS BLUES is a film chronicling the journey of blind Blues legend Paul Pena as he discovers the ancient art of Tuvan throat singing. This documentary is both whimsical and profound, creating a powerful portrait of a musician as well as the story of a unique cultural exchange. This is a story about a man whose struggle in life is not defined by conformity but by curiosity and the love of music. GENGHIS BLUES won the Sundance Audience Award for a Documentary in 1999, won Most Popular Film & Humanitarian Award at Vancouver International Film Festival in 1999, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2000.
