ELMAN PEACE (wt) is a film that takes us into the lives of one young Somali boy and one girl who were given a chance to heal from the tragic events of growing up immersed in civil war. ELMAN PEACE focuses on two protagonists whose lives were forever changed when they were taken in by Elman Peace—an organization led by one charismatic young Somali woman and her mother that helps children heal from devastating trauma and prepares them to live successful lives. Along with basic education and trade skills, Elman creates space for them to experience vulnerability and play—crucial elements of any childhood that are fleeting for those who have grown up amidst war.
