MotraMusic is an all-female percussion project based in Nairobi, Kenya, keen on changing the narrative surrounding women and drumming. "MOTRA" stands for "MOdern and TRAditional" rhythms, aiming to bring together modern and traditional styles of drumming. MotraMusic is the first project of its kind in Nairobi, aiming to teach young women the fundamentals of percussion and encourage them to diversify their positions on music.
