CHILDREN OF THE UNIVERSE is a science fiction film with a thematic undercurrent of the refugee experience. A few years after the tragic death of their young daughter, an estranged couple, Jacob and Audrey, encounter a young, injured alien. The two start to care for it and nurse it back to health, all the while, the authorities in the area are rounding up similar aliens who have also crash-landed in town. Jacob and Audrey must come together to learn how to communicate with the alien as well as become a family again as an interstellar refugee crisis unfolds around them.
