SUCCESS! Cura Orphanage
Cura Orphanage is a residence for nearly 50 children, ages 4 to 13 who have lost their parents to AIDS, in Kenya, Africa. The Orphanage raised funds to build a rabbit hutch last year, which has not only provided food but income when the rabbits are sold in the market. To date, nearly all 50 in the home received a sponsor to cover the cost of their care and a secondary school is under construction. Cura continues to grow into its 150 child capacity enhance the lives of the orphans in areas of health care, education, environment and economic well-being.
At the end of October 2010, two of Cura’s supporters, Roger and Larry, made a very special visit. Not only did these generous supporters bring lollipops for the children, but brought with them 26 brand new shoes and socks from South Africa! Larry not only gave funds to supply the remaining 24 pairs of shoes needed for every child to have a set, but replaced old school uniforms for those who needed them! Cura is truly blessed with the generosity of their visitors!
