Watoto means "child" in Swahili. The Watoto Fund provides school and living expenses to orphaned Masai children living in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. These children face enormous challenges on a daily basis from physical to emotional.
Our mission is to free the children from the burdens of their daily existence and instill a sense of safety, health, hope and promise in their worlds.
The Watoto Fund offers:
- School fees
- Living expenses
- Operational expenses for the Kenyan coordinator — Jennifer of Oreteti Le Maa
- Tools for sustainable sources of income — animals for milking, etc.
- Tools for clean and drinkable water

My name is Sophia Katitia Ledidi and I am a student at Olooseos Secondary School Kajiado, Kenya. Am 17 years old. I have great interest in accomplishing my secondary education but my main worry is finance. I come from a poor family due to the current prolonged drought which has finished all the domestic animals we depend on .We have no any source of income and the chances of educating me and my younger brothers and sister in very limited I come from a family of ten and it has become a problem for my dad and mum to feed us hence a result of this unfortunate situation am therefore seeking for any assistance to enable my proceed with my education.

My name is Rebecca Katimwa Kindi, am 16 years old and I was born in 1991 at Oltepesi village, it is two kilometers from the reknown Oloogersalie prehistoric site. It is within Ngong division Kajiado District Keekonyokie location. Am a fifth born in a family of six, my mother took me to school following a chief order where my uncle wanted to marry me off; I was rescued by Jeniffer (Oreteti Le Maa co-ordinator) and my mum. My mother does beadworks to assist my brothers and me. Our father deserted us because of my refusal to get married. I am looking forward to join a boarding school so that I can concentrate in my studies and attain higher school entry and proceed to university and hence become teacher.

My name is Dan Paranae and I was born in 1990 in a small village called Kisanju, Kajiado district in Kenya. Am the fourth born in the family of five, I was born with congenital problem which doctors call congenital tulips where my both legs are affected. I am 16 yrs old. I schooling at Nakeel Secondary School. My mother died of Chorron Cancinarma and my father passed away before I was born where the cause of his death was not clear to me. I do face problems in athletics. But since am now in a boarding school I will not be experiencing such problems, school fees is another problem that is because my uncle is poor and illiterate he has two cows and four goats. My ambition is to be a doctor or an engineer.

My name is Monicah Monirei and am schooling at Olteyiani Primary School and I come from a family of seven children three brothers and four girls. I am 14 yrs old. My mother is single parent and she does beadwork for my father he died long time ago. My mother helps us through bead making. My eldest brother wanted to marry me off but I was rescued by Jeniffer (Oreteti Le Maa co-ordinator) and the area chief. I would wish to go to a boarding school so as to concentrate on my studies since am getting a lot of disturbance from my elder brothers. My ambition is to be a nurse.

My name is Nailatei Parsitau and am 10 years and I go to school at Ingarooj Primary School Keekonyokie North in Kajiado District. I come from a polygamous family, my father has married six wives where my mother is a second wife, am a last born in family of seven brothers and four girls whom are born by mother. I was taken to school following a chief order where my father wanted me to take care of the animals instead of going to school. My ambition is to become a policewoman.
