Projects | Rebuilding the Dream Fund

Jennifer Hudson.

One Night Only: Rebuilding the Dream" is a six-part documentary series currently airing on BET about a group of high school kids in New Orleans who, against all odds - with no arts program, a devastated auditorium/stage and living out of FEMA trailers - produced the musical DREAMGIRLS at their Katrina-ravaged school.

A fully tax-exempt fund, "Rebuilding the Dream" has been started by Rebuilding the Dream to recreate the art's program for McDonogh 35 High School in New Orleans. Jennifer Hudson came to share the excitement of the show and sang with the cast. She is making a generous donation through the Creative Visions Foundation to help launch the fund.

Rebuilding The Dream is an organization committed to educating youth by creating positive images in media that help to build self- esteem and reconnect them with their cultural and social identities. We contribute to their growth through mentorships, workshops, and scholarship programs uniquely designed to reflect and rebuild positive values that are sadly lacking in today's society.
